Mar 14, 2012 Carrie Duarte/Adam Fredline/Debbie Nielsen Bracketing, Metering and Intro to HDR Photography

We began the evening talking about exposure, exposure compensation, and metering. Then Adam helped us with setting up our cameras for Auto Bracketing. Then we talked about HDR photography, the uses and how to take pictures for the purpose of creating an HDR image. The downloadable pdf files show what we reviewed at the meeting. In the Exposure pdf file, you will see the common Shutter Speeds, Fstops and ISO settings. In the Bracketing pdf file, you will see a list of Nikons and their settings for bracketing, FPS, and the exposure increments. In the HDR pdf file, you will see other uses of creating HDR photos other than the high contrast, highly saturated images. For the Belluno trip, our goal is to capture some landscape images with the intent to create HDR photos. For the workshop on Mar 28th, we will use those images to stack, and create our own HDR photos.

Photoshop Tutorial - Color Range
Sometimes the magic wand tool can get tedious when selecting a background color in your image when that color is in multiple areas. Using Color Range can make selecting a color or multiple colors easier. In this short tutorial you can follow along and learn how to select a color and then use the Color Balance to adjust the colors. You can also make the selected range of color or colors transparent. After making the selected color transparent you can bring in another image to appear in the transparent areas. PDF 3.15MB and PDF 228KB
